Mercedes Benz head office in Miami, Florida

Designed by 360 Architecture (now acquired by HOK), the Mercedes-Benz stadium is an architectural icon in Atlanta. The unique geometric design and retractable roof combine to create a one-of-a-kind event experience. The roof is made of 220-foot-long petals that retract in unison, much like a camera shutter. The rest of the façade is made of insulated metal panels; the transparent section on the west side boasts stunning views of the Atlanta skyline.

Pro-Bel Technical Solution

This extraordinary building predominantly consists of weld-to-structure safety roof and wall anchors, providing access to the entire façade via direct rigging for a rope descent system (RDS), which enables access to the complex façade. The layout of the anchors for this architectural masterpiece is specifically designed to complement the geometric panels that follow the contours of the stunning stadium. Vertical rigging sleeves supplement the anchor system in areas that are difficult to reach. Each of the 8 eight 220ft long retractable roof petals is custom fitted with a horizontal lifeline system for fall protection.
