Three Alliance is the latest addition to the Alliance Center Complex in Buckhead, a prestigious community north of downtown Atlanta. The office tower stands 30 storeys tall and is connected to a 10-storey parking garage. Clad entirely in glass and faceted windows, the structure cuts a dynamic figure in the skyline and allows for a bright, sunlit interior.
Pro-Bel Technical Solution
Three Alliance Center consists of the main office tower roof with a 26-tall screen wall around the perimeter of the roof. This obstacle required the design and installation of a steel catwalk with a series of fixed access ladders to access from the main roof level. The catwalk was installed 42” down from the top of the screen wall and was equipped with a guard rail on the interior edge of the catwalk to protect the workers against the in-board fall hazard down to the lower roof. Our team worked with the structural engineer of record to ensure the catwalk and additional reinforcing steel were added for the attachment of our weld-to-structure davit bases and safety anchors. Portable davit arms are transferred along the catwalk from the davit base to the davit base for each suspended platform (swing stage) drop. The parking garage is equipped with cast-in-place flush-mounted wall anchors and adhesive wall anchors for the use of counterweighted outrigger beams to service the façade with a suspended platform (swing stage).
