Fall Protection Services for Building Owners
Pro-Bel specializes in providing building owners and property managers with inspection, recertification, and maintenance of window washing & fall protection systems. Our goal is to help you maintain a safe and compliant environment for rooftop workers while minimizing liability and ensuring peace of mind.
As a building owner or manager, ensuring the safety of rooftop workers is paramount. Window washing and working on the roof entail inherent risks, so the systems must be up to code. Your roof’s window washing and/or fall protection needs to schedule annual inspections and recertifications to avoid fall-related injury or death and the legal liabilities resulting if they were not scheduled appropriately.
Our Services for Building Owners & Property Managers
Fall Protection Inspection
As of 2017, OSHA requires all buildings with fall protection to comply with mandatory inspections. Failure to do so will result in full liability to the building in the event of an injury or fatality.
For a fall protection system (tieback anchors, etc.), inspections are due annually, and recertification is due every five years. Pro-Bel provides inspections for both buildings we’ve worked on and those we haven’t. At Pro-bel, we’ve practiced and pioneered fall protection safety for 45 years. Contact us to book a mandatory inspection before your building reaches the liability stage.
Window Washing System Inspection
As of 2017, OSHA requires all buildings equipped with fall protection to comply with mandatory inspections. Failure to do so will result in total liability to the building in the event of an injury or fatality. To ensure your building’s safety is up-to-code, Pro-Bel inspects buildings we’ve worked on and those we haven’t.
Inspections for a window washing system (davits, roof anchors, etc.) are due annually, and recertification is due every 10 years. Many window washers refuse to work on buildings without recertification or regular inspections, so it’s best to book them early.
Re-Certification & Load Testing
In addition to suspended access and fall protection equipment inspections, we offer OSHA-compliant re-certification. Recertification entails load testing roof anchors, window washing davits, monorail systems, and any other suspended access equipment. Unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer, recertification is required every 5 years for adhesive equipment and 10 years for all other types of equipment.
Suspended access operations cannot continue unless certification is up-to-date. Pro-Bel can arrange a load test on time and provide you with all the necessary paperwork.
Consequences of not scheduling fall protection/window washing system inspections
Not recertifying equipment or delaying annual inspections for a lengthy period will result in total liability in the event of an accidental death or injury. This may lead to the building owner or property manager getting sued for anywhere from a few thousand to millions of dollars. In addition to the financial toll, you will also have to bear the emotional weight of allowing another person to come to harm.
Why Work With Pro-Bel?
Given the price you could potentially pay for missing an annual inspection, it’s better to book it in advance or risk an accident occurring after missing the inspection date. Pro-Bel has hundreds of inspectors throughout America who can schedule an appointment at the nearest possible convenience. After an inspection is conducted, we will send you all the necessary paperwork.
Pro-Bel helps building owners and property managers avoid legal liabilities and maintain a safe working environment by ensuring regular inspections and timely re-certifications. Neglecting these critical safety checks can lead to serious financial and emotional consequences.
